DANCE CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Hip-Hop: This is an ideal class for any student who loves to dance and wants to have fun. This dance style represents body movements that go with the beat and rhythm of hip-hop music. Students will learn funky warm-ups, trendy dance routines and creative rhythms. Through this class, students will build strength, stamina and style through contemporary hip hop movement.
Dance Technique/Ballet: Students will learn basic technique of dance. This class is designed to teach the placement and alignment of the body regarding ballet technique. Students will be able to identify ballet terms and perform each movement.
Dance Fusion/Modern: If you like to run, jump, leap, and kick then this is the perfect class for you. This style of dance focuses on exploring the elements of time, space, and energy by creating an atmosphere that allows the students to move freely throughout the open space of the room. Students will be guided in finding their own movement potential, body connectivity and expression.
Jazz: Dancers will learn the beginning steps of jazz and work on picking up choreography sequences that fuse together style and technique. Dancers will learn basic technical skills (i.e. jazz walk, chaine turns, single pirouettes, jetes and kicks).
African: This fun, upbeat, and dynamic class is designed to move you off your feet. Students will be introduced to the music and dance styles of the African culture which will also be infused with music from today. Class will begin with a warm-up exercise that is designed to condition the body for the intense movement of this form by developing strength, aerobic stamina, coordination, and rhythmic awareness.
Flexibility: Do you want to learn how to do the splits? Do you want higher leaps and kicks? If you answered yes, then this is the class for you. Students in this class will learn how to stretch and how to become more flexible with consistent training.
Tap: This class is designed to provide dancers an introduction into the fundamentals of tap dance. The core of the class will focus on the development of basic technical skills (shuffles, flaps, cramp-rolls, etc.).
Tumbling: This class is designed to increase flexibility, strength, balance, coordination, endurance, timing, body awareness, self-discipline, and confidence. Tumbling class focuses on proper hand placement and body alignment with emphasis on the muscles required to perform proper technique. Students will learn backbends, cartwheels, somersaults, handstands, and more!
Adult Beginner Pole: You will learn a variety of pole and floor moves and learn how to incorporate these moves into routines, which tighten and tone your body. In addition, we focus on building your upper and lower body strength and flexibility that will contribute to gaining various pole skills.
Adult Pole Fitness: If you want to build upper body strength, core strength, and leg strength for pole, then this is the class for you! With consistency, you can gain body strength and improve your overall performance on the pole. Be ready to work up a sweat!
Adult Pole N Flow: This class blends various dance styles including Chair dance, Floor work and Pole. You will learn beginner pole moves and learn fluidity of movement and transitions in your performance. Knee pads, leg warmers, and socks are recommended.
Personal Training: These sessions consist of full body workouts and cardio routines. Sessions are tailored to the clients’ individual needs. The personal trainer tracks the progress of the client through weekly weight checks consisting of weight, body mass index, body mass, body water, and bone density.
